About us

Lama Farhat
Lama started with NSPIRG in October of 2019 after graduating from Dalhousie University with a degree in Environmental Science. As the Engagement & Resource Coordinator, she manages the outreach side of NSPIRG while working on organizing various projects, programs, campaigns and opportunities for students and community members to take part in.
Throughout her time at Dalhousie, Lama was continuously involved in the International Students & BIPOC community as an organizer. This gave her the experience of creating spaces, informative workshops and cultural events that were accessible and engaging for the community. This has been invaluable work to Lama as she continues to support communities within and outside Dalhousie through creating accessible spaces, informative resources and providing opportunities for community members to lead the narrative.
Besides work, Lama is an avid baker and is constantly trying new recipes. If you drop by our office, she will surely surprise you with some tasty sweets!

Clark MacIntosh
Clark started with NSPIRG in 2016. As the Finance and Resource Centre Coordinator, Clark manages the financial side of NSPIRG while also assisting in organizing projects, research, programs, campaigns, supporting our Working Groups, and connecting student and community leaders with the resources they need in their pursuit of social and environmental justice.
Clark’s background in social work and psychology has helped frame their work in intersectional, anti-oppressive practice. They’ve worked in the non-profit sector as well as within academic and private settings, giving them experience working to change systemic injustice from outside and within the systems which perpetuate them. This has been invaluable to the work Clark does with NSPIRG and within the community, supporting a broad range of issues through the desire to create spaces and structures that are more accessible and equitable. A self-proclaimed “accessible policy nerd”, Clark has dedicated much of their activist capacity to Queer justice, accessibility, youth-centred justice, health care and making the political more accessible.
Clark self-identifies as a White, Non-Binary, Queer Parent with multiple invisible (dis)Abilities. Outside of NSPIRG, Clark has been a board member of The Youth Project and The William Taylor Youth Project, as well as a founding member of the Halifax Drag Kings and Gender F*ck Halifax. Oh, and Clark loves cats!

After graduation she hopes to go on to law school and to continue to do work in social justice. Outside of school she enjoys rock climbing and continuing to explore fun places in Halifax.
